Can a tile mural go in a shower?
Yes. Each mural tile is a porcelain tile with the design fired into the glaze in our kiln, so it copes with water, steam and daily cleaning like any other wall tile. It is waterproof and scratch resistant, and every mural carries a 30 year UV guarantee against fading. Fit it in a shower the same way you would fit standard wall tiles, with the usual waterproof backing behind the tiling.
Choosing a design for your bathroom
Think about the feel you want. Soft blues, sea life and beach scenes bring a calm, spa-like bathroom feel. Botanical and floral murals add colour to a cottage or vintage scheme. A single bold landscape works as a striking backdrop in a minimalist bathroom with neutral tones and stone effect tiles around it.
- Shower walls: one large mural across the back wall of the shower.
- Above the bath: a wide landscape between the bath and the ceiling.
- Cloakrooms: a smaller mural behind the basin as a decorative feature.
Sizes, tiles and finishes
Every bathroom tile mural is made to order. You choose the tile size (10x10cm, 15x15cm or 20x20cm, or a custom size), how many tiles wide and high, and a gloss or matt finish. A gloss finish wipes clean easily in wet areas. Use the tile mural size calculator to work out the tiles your wall needs. There is no minimum order.
How bathroom tile murals are made and fitted
Your chosen artwork is printed as a ceramic decal, transferred onto each porcelain tile by hand and kiln fired, so the colour becomes part of the tile. The tiles arrive numbered. Lay them out on the floor first, then fix them to the bathroom wall with tile adhesive and grout, like any ceramic or porcelain tile. Our installation guide walks through each step.
