The central figure is an Atlantic puffin, its distinctive black and white plumage and brightly coloured beak rendered in soft detail. It is perched on a grassy clifftop dotted with small wildflowers, looking out over a gently rolling sea towards distant, hazy headlands. A low sun, just out of frame, bathes the entire scene in a warm, yellow light which reflects on the water’s surface and illuminates the soft greens of the cliffside vegetation. The painterly style and soft focus lend the scene an atmosphere of peaceful solitude.
A solitary puffin stands watch over a calm sea as the sun casts a golden glow across the water.
Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes โ 10cm, 15cm or 20cm โ and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.
The muralโs serene coastal subject and soft, warm colour palette make it an excellent feature for a bathroom, contributing to a calm and restorative space. Its landscape orientation can visually widen a room, and the light, airy tones of the sky and sea prevent it from overpowering the decor.
