Kingfisher Study No. 18 – Tile Mural

A kingfisher, with its brilliant turquoise and orange plumage, perches on a mossy branch, intently watching the water below.

The central figure is a kingfisher, its feathers a mix of iridescent turquoise and a warm russet orange, poised on a moss-laden branch overhanging a placid river. All around, a dense tapestry of woodland life thrives, from delicate ferns and tall reeds to clusters of white cow parsley and purple bluebells. Water lilies dot the surface of the water, and the soft, filtered light suggests a peaceful, secluded clearing.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.
