Otter by the River No. 6 – Tile Mural

An inquisitive otter pauses on a moss covered riverbank, looking out over the rippling water as it flows through a dense woodland.

The mural’s dominant green and blue tones, combined with the tranquil water scene, make it an excellent feature for a bathroom, contributing to a calm, sanctuary-like atmosphere. Its detailed, naturalistic subject matter provides a restorative focal point above a bath or on a main wall.

A brown-furred otter rests in the foreground, its detailed whiskers and watchful expression drawing the eye. The composition follows the meandering path of a clear river, its surface reflecting sunlight that filters through the forest canopy. On the banks, a rich variety of plant life thrives, from vibrant green ferns and mossy stones to small wildflowers, while the background reveals a mix of lush summer trees and others with early autumnal, russet-coloured leaves.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.
