Red Squirrel Study No. 22 – Tile Mural

A curious red squirrel pauses on a moss covered branch in a sun-dappled autumn woodland.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.

The focal point is a fluffy-tailed red squirrel, sitting alertly on a thick, mossy oak branch that stretches across the lower half of the mural. Surrounding the creature, the forest scene is filled with the rich textures of gnarled tree trunks, delicate ferns, and oak leaves in shades of russet, gold, and deep green. Sunlight filters through the canopy in the background, illuminating the misty woodland air and giving the scene a soft, gentle glow.

The mural’s warm, earthy palette of browns and greens fosters a calm and inviting atmosphere in a living room or snug. Its detailed woodland narrative offers a restful focal point behind a sofa or in an alcove, complementing natural wood and soft furnishings.
