Pheasant Study No. 2 – Tile Mural

A handsome pheasant with an iridescent blue-green neck steps through a dense undergrowth of ferns and wild berries.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.

The illustration is filled with the rich, warm tones of autumn, from russet oak leaves to golden ferns and ochre grasses. Twisting branches weave through the background, while clusters of dark purple and bright red berries provide pops of contrasting colour. The entire scene is rendered with intricate detail and flat, patterned surfaces, reminiscent of a medieval tapestry or a William Morris design.

This mural’s deep, earthy palette introduces a warm and inviting atmosphere to a living room or study. Its traditional, naturalistic subject matter pairs exceptionally well with wood panelling, leather furniture, and classic interior schemes.
