Red Squirrel Study No. 18 – Tile Mural

A curious red squirrel pauses on a mossy branch, bathed in the soft light of an autumn woodland.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.

The central focus is a detailed red squirrel, its bushy tail curled upwards, perched on a thick oak branch covered in bright green moss. Around it, the forest floor and trees are rich with autumnal foliage, including russet oak leaves, golden ferns, and clusters of dark berries. Sunlight filters through the misty background, illuminating the woodland scene and giving it a gentle, hazy quality.

This mural’s warm orange and brown palette cultivates a cosy, natural atmosphere within a living room or snug. Positioned on a feature wall, perhaps behind a sofa or on a chimney breast, its tranquil woodland theme provides a calm and inviting focal point.
