Hedgehog Study No. 23 – Tile Mural

A curious hedgehog peeks out from a carpet of rich green moss and fallen autumn leaves.

The central subject is a detailed hedgehog, its spines and soft face rendered with care as it noses through the undergrowth. Surrounding it, the forest floor is a tapestry of natural textures, from curled, russet oak leaves and acorns to ferns, red berries, and delicate white bell-shaped flowers. In the background, the trunks of ancient trees fade into a soft, misty light, which gives the scene a quiet, secluded atmosphere.

The mural’s earthy palette of deep greens, browns, and soft greys introduces a calming, natural element to a living room or study. Its gentle, illustrative quality works well as a feature wall in a quiet reading corner or behind a rustic wooden sideboard.

Every mural is printed and kiln fired to order in Somerset, England, on ceramic tiles in your choice of three sizes — 10cm, 15cm or 20cm — and two finishes, Gloss or Matt. Colours are fired into the glaze, so the design is permanent, scratch resistant and completely waterproof, making it suitable for kitchen splashbacks, bathrooms and showers.
